Neighborly behavior...or not

There's major tension in the apartment these days.
Doors are always closed.
No one is every home, and when they are, no one talks to each other. We've only had one bbq out back this year. Last year by this time, there were three major gatherings.

Is it the weather? Could be.

It's too hot to think, to cook, to move around beyond the bathroom and back.
It's too hot to comiserate in the common area, so roommates either retreat to their air conditioned bedrooms or leave the apartment for air conditioned bars.

Fine, roommates. Don't come home.

Means I finally get full reign of the couch past 5 PM.

Discrimination

A black dog can't catch a break.

Seems Bee has been shopping my picture around to animal agents, but according to one woman who represents dogs that have appeared on Domino, Lucky, and many Frontline and Petco ads, black dogs are generally discriminated against because they "don't photograph well."

"I guess sort of like in real life," she joked. Just like black people get discriminated against, black dogs are discriminated against. In general, agents don't like to sign black dogs because photographers don't lke black dogs because they don't show up well on camera and in photographs."

Ain't that a bitch.

Bee sent her the photos anyway. Because if Halle Berry can win an Oscar, then I damn sure can get signed by a doggie agency.

The day before

7:30 AM.

Bee takes me for a walk as Gi walks out for work. Gi announces that she will be coming back home at noon. "We get a half day before every holiday," she says.

What kind of job does Bee have that she's been gone for 8 HOURS!! It's such a nice day outside, and I want to go OUTSIDE AND PLAY!!!!!!

It's not fair!

It's also almost 6, so Bee should be back soon.
